Cindy Hepp

Cindy Hepp is a former science teacher at Trico Elementary School and currently serves as a STEAM consultant for the district. She is a Candidate Cohort Facilitator for ROE 30 National Board Certification for Teacher candidates.  She participated in the 2016 and 2017 SRET (Summer Research Experience for Teachers) and partnered with a Noyce MTF. She has mentored new and pre-service teachers and has participated in the selection and adaption of new instructional material for her school. She implements research to inform curriculum development and learning strategies. Cindy, along with two other teachers at Trico Elementary School started the first STEAM Family Night which provides students with the opportunity to share their learning experiences with their families by engaging them in wide variety of learning activities. In preparation of the 2017 Solar Eclipse, she was actively involved in creating “Turning Elementary Science Students into Eclipse Ambassadors”. This project focused on students participating in eclipse-related learning activities such as creating Earth-sun-moon models, navigating websites like NASA, SIUC, The Astronomical Society of the Pacific etc.  Cindy is currently a member of the Teacher Advisory Board to the new SIUC Noyce- River Region Sustainability MTF Program.
