What is your teaching style and philosophy?

I value building connections with my students and community in the classroom to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions, discuss, make mistakes, and gain a greater understanding about the natural world. I hope students leave class feeling confident to try new adventures and willing to support each other.

How do you see the SIUC Noyce Master Teaching Fellowship in Environmental Sustainability influencing you as an educator, your classroom and your community?

I am excited for opportunities to engage in meaningful communication, research, and learning about environmental sustainability, all of which will integrate into our high school’s curriculum. Course work and research through the SIUC Noyce Master Teaching Fellowship will provide a pathway to sharing and engaging students in learning about environmental sustainability.
