What is your teaching style and philosophy?

I am passionate about all of the disciplines of science. I believe that translates into my classroom; when my students see my enthusiasm for the content, then they too believe that it is something worth investing in. I structure my classroom so that my students can experience science with the hopes that it sparks their curiosity as it has sparked mine.

How do you see the SIUC Noyce Master Teaching Fellowship in Environmental Sustainability influencing you as an educator, your classroom and your community?

I envision the Noyce Master Fellowship enriching my knowledge of Environmental Sustainability so that I can make my students conscience of their ability to be virtuous stewards of the planet. Furthermore, I have learned that one of the most beneficial pieces of continuing education is the collaborations with fellow educators. I very much look forward to these collaborations and anticipate that they will be transformative to my teaching.
