What is your teaching style and philosophy?

I am an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about my subject area! Science is so much fun because students learn by doing. They have the opportunity to learn concepts by experiencing them firsthand. My philosophy of education is that all students have the right to learn in a safe, comfortable, engaging environment that supports their growth physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.

How do you see the SIUC Noyce Master Teaching Fellowship in Environmental Sustainability influencing you as an educator, your classroom and your community?

I hope to use this program to increase my knowledge in the field of sustainability so that I can pass that education on to my students to help them develop into eco-friendly members of society. We have one Earth! I hope to encourage, educate, and inspire future minds that will make our planet sustainable for many generations to come.
